There are TONS of basic questions to ask until something interesting comes up that you can both talk about, and something will come up, if she’s meant to be in your chapter. And if she’s a dud, and you have nothing in common, just talk about yourself and your chapter. If you ask what she did in high school, and gives a one word answer “softball” which you didn’t play because you’re too girly. “omg! Tricia played softball in high school! She was the captain, you’ll totally have to meet her. Some of our girls actually started an intramural team with w/e fraternity. We also have a soccer team, a volleyball team, and a lot of sisters get really involved in airband. It’s the dance competetion, we won this year. I was super involved because I danced in high school, but everyone contributed with music and crafting, and blah blah blah.” So easy. Before you know it, your little is bumping to you, and you didn’t have to worry about how boring that girl was because you monopolized the conversation. Your recruitment chair will teach you all the tricks!

Asking about pop culture is always good too. You can talk forever about if she caught the most recent episode of Glee or who you were rooting for in the bachelorette.

I liked coach a lot when I was younger. I had a few in 8th or 9th grade. Everyone has his/her own preferences.

Yeah… I get that it’s a song, and I get really worked up about it with approximately everyone. It just makes it out like girls who care about what they look like, are terrible people, and that because the song’s antagonist, if you will, is pretty, it makes it ok for a nerd to steal her boyfriend! Just because someone is pretty doesn’t mean she’s a bitch, and just because someone is low-maintenance or down to earth (which I think is the image she’s trying to present) doesn’t make them a nice person. Stealing someone’s boyfriend isn’t nice and the girl who makes an effort to look good deserves loveeeeeee. Bye Taylor Swift, see you next time you decide to be barefoot on a stage or something else that is equally weird and gross.

HATE HER! ugh.. Maybe T. Swift… if you weren’t wearing sneakers and t-shirts… he would have been with you to begin with, now go chase after a man who isn’t in a relationship and leave that poor high-heeled, short-skirt-wearing, cheerleader alone with her boyfriend. Just because she doesn’t like the same music as you doesn’t make her a bad person.

I REALLY thought, that no one would do this because it was so clear I was kidding. Shame on me I guess.

Even if you have a bf.. You still get drunk and hook up with him!!! Which means you could still fuck things up! You don’t need to be sleeping around to have a pregnancy scare. But you’re right about your other point, I’m sure everyone is captivated by your Sunday stories of how you went home early and you and your bf fell asleep before your cheese fries got to his house. Not dry at all.

Grow up! My first comment was funny. We all get drunk and hook up, and I tend to think people who never ever do are a little dry. You need to let your hair down sometimes. I’m not suggesting it’s smart to hook up with guys who don’t respect you, but plenty of people make dumb decisions when they are drunk, and accidents happen. Condoms break. Sometimes you don’t remember if you used one, because guess what, guys don’t want to. And don’t let me forget a little thing called the heat of the moment. It happens and if it’s never happened to you, it’s happened to someone in your entourage.

And I’m appalled that any sister of mine would publicly say something like they were bothered to share my letters. From what I’m told, our sisterhood is much different at most schools than it is at my own school, but I would never EVER disrespect Alpha Sigma Alpha by insulting one of our members, despite what I had in my head. If you don’t like what I have to say that’s fine but when you joined ASA you became a part of something bigger than you. Remember that next time you want to use ASA’s name.

    Alpha love.

You’re stupid. I’m not knocked up either, but I have to worry about it from time to time, because the bedroom is not the place to be prim and proper. You too, can enjoy being boring in the sack.

And to save you time, I’ll just comment for you “classy…” and maybe you’re classier than I am, but make no mistake, I’ve never been boring or ordinary.

Nice touch with the smiley face at the end so everyone knows you’re still super pretty and composed while being a huge bitch 🙂 TSM

omg stop!!!!! did you make this up or do people say it and I’ve never heard it? This is one of the best TSMs in awhile… actually witty, funny, and creative, not just a mean girls quote.

I really dislike this, and maybe it’s because I’m pretty sure my chapter is pretty small nationally, and has a reputation at most schools that is different from the rep we have at my own. I used to get really offended when I would get a TSM posted and all people would respond to was the fact that I’m in ASA, and I totally feel the need to defend my chapter, and brag about how fabulous everyone is (because they are all totally beautiful, and real, and the wildest, most fun, amazing girls I know – sorry I had to). But the craziest thing about it all, is that unless you’re a legacy, the chances of you being in the same sorority at another school are a lot smaller than the chances of you being in a different sorority. I’m sure at every school, there’s a chapter that fits the stereotypes mine has, but it probably isn’t asa. Ah! I just got really freaked out thinking about it!

agreed. nothing says dage like some neon, plastic sunglasses and a fanny. The kind of attire you’d normally never be caught dead in unless you woke up early on a fraturday morning with the intention to pass out wasted by 5 and wake up at 9pm to get ready and rally. Oh how I’ll miss college.
