    Not the original poster, but it’s worked for me in the occasional emergency! My advice would be to be very careful—don’t hold it on for too long. In fact, if it’s a small enough swatch (and if you’re using it like I do for collars or cuffs then it should be) you can just run the flatiron along with the single layer of fabric in the middle just like you would if you were straightening your hair! Same speed/pressure works great. And if it’s not flat the first time, just go over it again once it’s cooled off. This helps make sure you don’t overheat your fabric.
