Absolutely. I work with these individuals every week, and it should go the same as every other girl; if they can live by our ritual and commit to this sorority as required, then there is no reason why she shouldn’t be allowed to join. Does everybody feel this way? Not at all. Could it ever happen? Sure, but its not going to be an easy journey.
This thing about marketing, is that there are so many subliminal messages behind it. This could be an attempt to capture the attention of fathers. They see their daughters saying these cuss words, it draws attention, and now they can imagine their daughters being victims. It’s not necessarily the same with college women. The stat saying 1 in 5 women are sexually assaulted, and having them count off? That definitely caught my attention. You have to keep an open mind, and attempt to see into the minds of the creators behind it.
Wait…what? Women shouldn’t have to learn to deal with it. Imagine we never got voting rights…now imagine somebody telling you that instead of saying the same statistics about said rights, you should just be educated on what you’re going up against. That’s absurd.
I think of the swearing as another way of gender inequality. The amount of times I’ve been told to “talk like a lady” or “no man will want to hear words like that” is just another version of inequality. So that could also be the point of that. Maybe kids aren’t the best medium, but it could have more meaning than the shock value!

This is absolutely amazing. It’s about time some of these barriers started coming down about individuals with intellectual dis(abilities)!

There is also a big difference between getting kicked out and disaffiliating with regard to this post!
