Well, I loved The Help, The Last Lecture, Little Bee and the Secret Life of Bees, I also love anything Jane Austen or Phillipa Gregory. Other ideas are anything by Anita Shreeve, Sea Glass is my favorite book ever! A lot of her novels are historically based which I adore. I’m also reading Alphabet Weekends by Elizabeth Noble for the second time, great poolside read. Also I am loving Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman, it is about a girl from Ohio who moves in with her Great Aunt in Savannah, GA. Great book! And I can’t tell you all how excited I was to see all the book suggestions! Have a great summer and keep the suggestions coming!

I absolutely adored The Last Lecture! If you enjoy Phillipa Gregory, I’d recommend any book by Sharon Kay Penman. She deals mainly with the Plantagenet’s (Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine, Richard Lionheart, etc.) and the books are thicker than Gregory’s but Penman is an amazing author and researcher, these books are much more historically accurate than Gregory’s. (No offense! She’s a good storyteller, but they’re not very true/accurate in all honesty.)
Other books that I’d recommend are The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series as many other have as well. I’d also say that the Blue Bloods series by Melissa De La Cruz are great beach reading, good fluff. I’d also recommend any books by Carl Hiaasen (writes about Southern FL), Scott Westerfeld (YA writer, but several of his books can be very thought provoking), Tracy Chevalier (especially Falling Angels! One of my favorite books ever), Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird and John Berendt’s Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (two of my other faves).
If it sounds like bragging I apologize, that’s not my intent, but I personally own over 2,000 books (not counting family books), I love reading and love recommending books, I hope some of my suggestions interest people! Let me know if anyone has suggestions for me as well! I can always use a good book!

I am absolutely disgusted. One of my friends summed it up perfectly. “That jury just legalized abortion up to two years after birth.” Absolute disgrace.

I love the diversity of sports that we’ve all participated in! I’ve played lacrosse for years and absolutely adore it, unfortunately I just don’t have time to play in college. I’m so envious of all y’all who ride, I used to ride Western when I was younger, but had to give it up. I also used to have a horse on my property (he belonged to the man we hired to take care of the property when we weren’t there) that I just rode bareback for years. I also love to hunt on my property!
Besides lacrosse, water is my absolute passion. I love to slalom ski, wakeboard and wake-skate (like a wakeboard but with no bindings), and of course living in Southern Florida (when not at college of course!) fishing is a must!

In all honesty, I don’t think this is right. Personally, I think that kids should be automatically expected to do their homework because parents need to parent. That’s it…having to bribe your child to do homework shows that you don’t, or aren’t showing, good parenting skills. Just my opinion, I don’t mean to be rude.
