I just want to clarify: I wrote and submitted this article months ago, before adjustments had been made to the Indiana law, and don’t know why TSM chose to publish it now. Obviously, though, I still stand by everything here. I wrote this as a call for national Greek orgs to make it a priority to address LGBT inclusion, not as a criticism or anger towards my organization–I wanted national orgs to speak out against this law and it did not happen. While my specific chapter is inclusive and welcoming of LGBT members, anti-discrimination policies on paper do not always get enacted in real life at every school, and I hope that changes in the future. Also, I did not pick the picture that accompanies this article–that’s on TSM. Thank you for reading!
