I go to school in Texas and I can say that the GDIs here definitely don’t listen to dubstep. ChiOwLove: My mother and best friend would both be embarrassed to consider you a “sister”. You are just jealous of Kappa G (Monmouth duo!) because she is fun and you suck. Sorry ’bout it.

I have been weirdly obsessed with the Ellie Goulding dubstep ever since I heard it a few months ago. It is on repeat right now while I am packing my house up!

How is this a TSM? You must be desperate if you can’t find a single guy and have to attempt to steal someone else’s man. By the way, he just wants to get in your pants!

It has taken everything in me not to comment back at The Piker but I can’t resist any longer. An old friend of mine took his own life this week and it has devastated our community like nothing I’ve ever seen. He came from a beautiful and wealthy family, was super fratty and absolutely beautiful inside and out. If someone like him can take his own life I know in my heart that anyone can. Love can make people do crazy things but so can being put down over and over again. Now I am sure the girl who wrote this comment would never do such a thing but I have to throw out there that Piker is an insensitive piece of white trash who should never be able to walk on this planet. I would replace my friends life with his in about .0001 seconds if I had the opportunity. I don’t care if he meant it as a joke or not, no one would be laughing if you saw the look on his parents faces after they found him.

My fratdaddy is trying to follow in his grandfathers footsteps and become a senator here in Texas. Did you know that they make a RIDICULOUSLY low salary (something like 30 dollars a week). Once they retire they are handed $100,000 a year just for being retired. It is a pretty sweet deal but you definitely have to have money already to be a senator. Plus everyone in his family is constantly under scrutiny, especially him. We aren’t even engaged yet and every time I attend political and social events with him people are constantly watching. Good luck though, hopefully we will be senators wives together 🙂

You are clearly new money. Actually, you are probably middle class and trying to prove yourself on TSM. Bless your heart, people who have real money do not brag about it.

I will carry any purse if I think it is cute. Obviously there is a time and place for every kind of purse but I’m sure she isn’t referring to one of those tacky “C” purses that Coach makes. Old money families don’t “blow it out” because they know that it isn’t classy to do that. A close family friend of ours has been a billionaire since birth and still works hard every day of his life and drives an Ford truck.

Former First Lady Barbara Bush is an alumna honor initiate of the Texas Eta chapter of Pi Beta Phi, not Kappa Alpha Theta. Nice try though.

My great grandmother’s pearls are a staple in my outfits. My mom’s Mikimoto pearls are absolutely to die for but I won’t be getting those for a very long time (I hope!) Maybe my school is more casual but all of us wear norts to class every day.. I like being able to do that because after class I always go immediately to the rec so it works out! Yurman is really popular of course along with Tiffanys but I think my favorite ring is one given to me for Christmas by my family’s jeweler; people are constantly asking me where I got it because it is huge without being gaudy and the most beautiful blue topaz ever! I hate chacos but a lot of my friends wear them to frat parties that have water related activities. True religion jeans can definitely be overboard and I have how all the GDI guys wear them but I think there are a few really cute styles and their blue jean jackets are perfect for the Rodeo (if you are from Houston you know what I’m talking about). Oversized sorority or fraternity tees are perfect for campus and then sorority tanks are perfect for the gym or casual frat parties. If it is winter I am almost always in leggings and XL tees or Seven jeans with Steve Madden boots and cashmere sweaters. Christian Louboutin heels are amazing but definitely don’t fit most college girls budgets!
