It’s impossible to know for sure from just a letter but I would venture to guess this guy hasn’t changed. 6 months is not enough time to make this sort of change aka completely reassessing your views on life. No matter how much you think you’re the exception, you’re not.

Unbeknownst to him, if this guy was truly in love with Brooke, he would have detailed her in concrete facts (ie. She likes to write, she loves running, she cares deeply about her younger sister).
