People who aren’t in love with lilly will have the choice to buy cheaper will, therefore taking away business from the signature stores. Its pretty simple logic actually.
I read it back my self and was embarrassed I was typing on my phone and could barely see what I was typing. I apologize, but I sure do not need you telling me that. Thank you!
Lets think small businesses for a second. Think all the small via shops in Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard and other signature stores around. They will all be hurting. I called the owner of a close by Lilly Signature store and she is SOO upset. Take into account store owners as well not just the people who will be wearing it.

MC1839- to me it doesnt matter if its a different thing. it still has the name lilly on it which is what I am ultimately upset about.
I agree. Lilly I have I treasure and I think for people new too Lilly, Target Lilly will be just like a dress from a mid priced store and they won’t appreciate it like us Lilly lovers do.
I am curious why Lilly pulled out of Bloomingdales when Lilly herself was alive because Bloomies was putting it on a discount allowing people to get there clothes for 20 bucks, and now they are partnering with Target…. a couple steps below Bloomingdales… I guess the new Lilly management doesn’t follow the basic foundations Lilly made her company off of decades ago. Upsetting for those who really love Lilly and her concepts of class and uniqueness.
Its not the same thing… this isn’t knock off stuff that can only be bought in china town. This is a NATIONWIDE production of Lilly Pulitzer stuff. Whatever, at least my 200 dollar dress won’t fall apart and peoples Target Lilly dresses will be falling apart at the end of the season. I pay 200 for uniquenesses, quality and to let the legacy of LILLY live on, not Target Lilly.
If you look carefully, you can pretty much match up all of the Target Prints to an official Lilly Print, making a dress you payed 200 for, worth 20 bucks at Target.
I disagree. Its not about who is wearing it, it is about the price we paid to be unique, and now there will be TONS of people wearing it who payed 20 bucks. I pay for Lilly because I know I am the few ones who will wear it religiously. If Lilly was a store like Gap, much more people would wear it, but then would there crazy Lilly girls and people who wear it to look presentable and classy and to continue Lilly’s legacy? No, because it is would be just an average store to pick up a cheap dress. This is what a partnership with Target will do. Now, it won’t be like that. I will be one of TONS. I don’t think its a good partnership at all. Lilly was made for the Palm Beach Socialites and now it will be for the masses.

Oh I am sure I will like the things they do not offer at Lilly, the umbrella, chairs, ottomans etc.
