I agree 100% – and in addition to that, a construction manager, or managerial employee of a GC is not a run of the mill residential home builder – they dominate the industrial, commercial, and heavy/civil infrastructure sectors. In fact, construction is the only industry experiencing consistent growth and sustainable profit margins throughout this recession. I might also note that not only is construction management among the top 10 most profitable careers in America, it is also in the top 5 highest paid majors/career paths straight out of college… comfortably joined by the four major engineering fields.
