Thank you so much for writing what needs to be said. Like your sister I also have bipolar disorder that was originally diagnosed as ADHD. Some people don’t understand that you can still live a rich and fulfilling life with BPD. When I told my best friend that I’m bipolar all she said was, “but, you’re not crazy?” Sadly, this is a typical response because it seems people just see how it’s portrayed on TV or in magazines. Most people would never even think that I’m bipolar. I’ve definitely become more open about it because I believe it’s nothing to be ashamed of. It took me a long time to get to that point. Your sister is not alone and there are plenty of other people, that you don’t even realize, have bipolar disorder.
