The majority of comments on this post just prove the lack of knowledge men AND women have of consent. A lack of resistance is not consent. If consent is not given, the sexual act is rape or at least assault. Rape come in many forms and all are tragic. I am a loud outspoken woman who for my personal life thinks the “Yes means Yes” movement is awkward. However, I respect that my personality is not everyone’s and that not everyone feels able to even say no. Therefore, I support “Yes means Yes” . I am sympathize with the author for going through such a confusing and emotionally-damaging experience further exasperated by other women refusing to acknowledge the validity of this situation.
