I only made an account on here for the sole purpose of replying to this statement. First, I would like to say that a very similar situation happened to me, in a church, when I was five years old. My parents were informed and it was taken to the police. Guess what? Although it could be proven that something happened, I was too young to testify. Fast forward, I am 21 now. I have an anxiety like you have never seen. I have fears of guys touching me. I won’t be with a guy by myself still until this day. Additionally, I know exactly what she means when she said that her mom “lost some of her faith.” Want to know why: BECAUSE MINE DID TOO. My parents still believe in God, but don’t go to church to this day. Do you want to know who I blame? Myself. When people like you come on forums and say that “you don’t believe them” and why didn’t they “report it,” I only have one response; I honestly pray that nothing like this ever happens to you. It is very clear that you have NO IDEA what girls, or even boys for that matter, have gone through when this happens.

Lastly, I would like to thank the writer for this article. Today, for the first time in sixteen years, I called my mom and told her that I agree to go therapy voluntarily. Somehow this anonymous article gave me the strength that I need to hopefully move on from a tragic story of my past.
