No one knew how bad it had gotten. I was too afraid to tell anyone. I used to cut, considered taking my life and I was just too afraid to speak up. Her suicide attempt was my wake up call.
Since getting help I have been so much better. When I strayed telling people I was faced with some reactions similar to these on the comments. Why am I depressed? I have everything I need. I’m trying to get attention.
It inspired me to write a column similar to this for my journalism course. This stigma has to end, or we will only see more tragedy from those too afraid to seek help.
