When I first started reading this article I wasn’t sure I agreed where it was going, but after reading the entirety I understand your point and I think it is definitely fair and definitely agree to some point. But I will say that I think that in many ways a lot of the “beauty” movements and campaigns that we are seeing on social media are about redefining beauty as something that is inward rather than outward. I like the point that you are trying to make though and I think it’s important to talk about what we, as Americans, value in society and why there might be a problem with shallow, materialistic things that we value too highly over what should really matter.
