Not all pageants are as ridiculous as that show. Some of my friends have competed in pageants where the majority of the judging was based off of community involvement, how well they did in school, interview questions, etc. Yes, there was a portion of the pageant where they were judged on evening wear or something to that effect, but it was a small portion. Those pageants are perfectly acceptable because they are rewarding the girls in them for being smart and involved in the community. The pageants that make me worry are the ones that seem to place an emphasis based soley on looks because it can be really damaging to some girl’s self-esteem. That’s where the problems start. And parents who force their children to participate in them when the girls clearly don’t want to be in the pageants disgust me. But if the girls are really passionate about being in those types of pageants, who am I to stop them?
As a student who goes to a Big 10 school, we would probably be wearing dresses if it wasn’t always so cold where our schools are from. A dress just isn’t practical all the time.
i understand where you’re coming from with the “innocent until proven guilty” thing, but some things just didn’t add up. i don’t understand why you would party and act the way she did even if her daughter accidentally died. there’s just some things you don’t do, and if her daughter’s death was an accident, she should still be evaluated psychologically because her behavior was very strange
There are so many other factors that could have gone into her being an only child and the comment you made was totally unnecessary. Please get off the TSM wall, unless you’re not enough of a man to be on the TFM wall.
