My mom grew up in a very privileged family, but her mom made her get a part time job as soon as she was 16 to learn about money. This was passed on to me and my sister because “no one is above working.” My mom taught me so many other wonderful things, but these are some of my favorites:
1. You are a bar of gold. You wouldn’t give a bar of gold away to just anyone, don’t give yourself away to just anyone either.
2. It’s easier to lose a dollar than earn a dollar.
3. Make sure you know how to support yourself in any situation. You should be able to rely on yourself for everything.
4. Love is the most important gift of all. If you don’t have love, you have nothing. Give it as much as you receive it.
