As a Chi O, I honestly can’t say that this surprises me. There is so much bullying and singling out in my chapter that I have seen girls I never anticipated leaving dropping like flies. It’s this kind of behavior that caused me to almost drop my senior year because of all the stress, depression and anxiety my chapter was causing me. However, I decided not to because if I dropped there would be no way for me to try and fix the problems I saw for future girls. This girl on girl crime has to stop. Chi Omega claims to have all these core values, but you would never know if you looked at many of the chapters. It breaks my heart.
I love this article so much. Much of how the media presents therapy is so wrong and people often misjudge how much can be gained from it.
My sophomore year was when things started becoming overwhelming for me. I was extremely depressed and has basically lost interest in everything I once enjoyed. At the suggestion of some of my sisters (who were psych majors and mental health advocates) I started seeing a therapist. It was then that I was diagnosed with OCD and generalized anxiety disorder, I received much needed treatment, and my life became enjoyable again.
To get to the point, therapy gave me my life back. Without some positive encouragement, I probably would have been too scared of the stigma to pursue help. If anyone is even considering the idea that they could use some help I strongly encourage pursuing therapy, despite what you fear other people might think or say. It’s not worth sacrificing your happiness. <3
If things would have gone as planned and Miss Philippines got the crown originally no one would have thought of sharing the crown with Miss Columbia. Why should they now? It’s not like Philippines cheated or anything; she won fair in square regardless. That’s life. Deal with it.
That is beyond unfair. Especially as a legal honors fraternity, they should be allowed to practice a basic constitutional right. That just seems like a ridiculous contradiction.
I usually get called cute by guys and I like it. I’m only 5′ 1″, so I’m pretty small and guys tell me that it makes me more approachable. Plus my boyfriends not super tall so it works for the best.
Plus, whenever a guy calls me hot I usually take it as they want something from me. Saying I’m cute always seems like a more genuine compliment, which I’ll take any day!
Honestly I don’t think you deserved that bid. You could have taken the place of a girl who really did want to be a part of that chapter, which is kinda a waste. And I realize that my sisters are not perfect as well, but at the end of the day they are MY sisters and that’s what counts. You are just plain selfish and don’t understand what Greek life is really about.
TSM, if you had any taste you would take this down. I am honestly considering stopping reading your site because of this.
1. By naming the chapter, you have slandered a ton of girls who are completely uninvolved in this situation. Think about the girls that just joined that chapter… Do you think this is how they want everyone to see the commitment they just made for the next 4 years? They should be very excited to have joined this chapter, but now because of this article I guarantee there are some that are hesitant wearing their letters bc they do not want to be associated with this. Don’t ruin it for them.
2. This is a private personnel issue for the chapter. It is only to be between the girl and the disciplinary board of her chapter. I am not disagreeing that she made a mistake, but it is her chapter’s job and not some stranger on TSM to chastise her for actions. They have their own disciplinary process and you should respect that.
3. Have some sympathy. This girl made a mistake. Things happen. I’m sure you made some bad decisions in college too. But writing this article will stick with her for a long time. It could affect her getting a job someday. Plus, she probably is very embarrassed about what happened and this article probably made matters 100x worse. People deserve to move past and learn from their mistakes and this article does not help that.
Fuck Chi Omega
For people to find some fake way to feel better about themselves and feel exclusive through what is basically clique membership
You can down vote all you want but sororities are hardly all about sisterhood and everyone knows it
Joining my sorority- worst decision of my life and a huge waste of money. Just a bunch of stuck up jerks who thrive on bringing down others

There’s a special place in hell for North Korea

So does feminism fail if her bread doesn’t turn out?
I’m so happy right now. The first movie is literally the story of my life!
Onlyyyy $31 million?? Cheapskates

It’s not usually something girls think about, which makes sense. We’re usually too busy to care lol
So uncomfortable right now
But I pull my hair back all the time… Am I gonna go bald??

I’m very disappointed, TSM.
Aw this was me and my little!
