Newest Teaser Proves That “American Horror Story” And FX Are Still Screwing With Us

American Horror Story

At this point, I don’t even know why I bother. It’s just like an ex, who keeps pulling you back to him even though you know you won’t get what you want to hear. “American Horror Story” is officially that ex to me. I love it, don’t get me wrong. I love it so much that it hurts my insides. Anytime anything “AHS” related comes up, I drop literally everything and dive into the wormhole that is FX’s best show ever. Every time the theme music comes on my nipples get a little hard. No matter how much it plays me, I always get excited when its name comes up.

Because yes, “American Horror Story” is playing us. It’s playing us h-a-r-d.

The show hasn’t even started and yet season six has already been a long journey. From released pictures, to theories, we thought we knew what we could look forward to. But then it was announced that all but one of these teasers were fakes. Tricks. Games that they were playing with our hearts.

And now we have absolutely no idea what the season six theme is. Like, zero ideas.

So of course, FX decides to release yet another teaser to play with our minds because at this point, we’re just asking for it. I wish I could say I don’t care but honestly? It’s so. damn. good.

Chills, right? The caption for this video is, “Murder. Madness. Magic. Misfits. Mayhem… Mystery?” So frustrating. So vague. So fucking clever.

With the different clips and allusions to previous horror movies (“Texas Chainsaw,” “Creature From the Black Lagoon,” “Children of the Corn”) some people are thinking that the theme might be Hollywood itself, but at this point? I just can’t really believe anything.

The only other clue we have to go off of is this new Instagram post.

Is this teaser real? Is it fake? Does any of this have to do with “Scream Queens”? Does anything even matter anymore?

I don’t know guys. I don’t know. At this point FX and Ryan Murphy officially own my soul. If you need me, I’ll be here. Silently counting down the seconds until September 14 at 10 p.m. and crying over the fact that I still don’t know whether or not Jessica Lange will ever come back.
