Why bother struggling through school, in hopes of getting a good career that will pay you enough money to afford at least one nice vacation a year and to not stress when you max out your credit card once in awhile, when the easier solution is so apparent? Why try to become a doctor or a lawyer, when you can just become a Kardashian, and earn more money in a year than you probably will in your entire life with some “real” job.
Forbes Magazine recently put out their list of the “Top-Earning Reality Stars of 2016,” and, shocker, six out of the seven people on the list were part of the Kardashian/Jenner clan. The Kardashian pulling in the largest profit this year was Kim (obviously) at $51 million; which is considerably higher than that of her husband, Kanye. The next on the list is Kylie Jenner, who, with her makeup empire and countless endorsements rakes in $18 million annually (let’s just assume that, since she hasn’t had any of her cars repossessed, she brings in more than her S/O , Tyga, as well), which is close to the salary of her supermodel sister, Kendall at $17 million. Khloé pulled in $15 million this year, but with her new, fighting, body, fitness guru attitude, and TV show who knows what this number will skyrocket to next year. Kris, the matriarch of the house, earns surprisingly less than her daughters, at still a staggering $11.5 million, leaving me wondering if these figures make her a proud Momager, or leaves her a little bit sour. Bringing up the end of the list is Kourtney, who brings in $10 million, which is surprising, considering that the only thing I hear her doing is whine about Scott.
The staggering figures of the family make you fantasize about what it would be like to not be terrified to open your credit card bill at the end of the month, and how satisfying it would be to buy a Mercedes because you were bored that day.
Noticeably not on the list are Rob Kardashian, Blac Chyna and Caitlyn Jenner, who all earn less than Forbes $8.5 million cutoff than was needed to be included. Even so, with such a rich family, it’s no wonder that Chyna latched onto Rob, knowing that some of that money will eventually find itself in her (and daughter Dream’s) pockets.
Forbes announced that the family each only earn a profit in the “low seven figures” from their show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, while the rest of the income comes from “endorsements, social media advertisements, books, appearances, apps, games, and any other ventures that earn them cash.” If E! wants to film my family’s craziness, I’m sure I could settle with an income in the seven figure range too.
At least now, we have the answer – we will never have enough money to actually keep up with the Kardashians.
