Hi there. I know this is a year old thread for the most part, but this lady is still at it. She was parked in my alley in the East Broadway neighborhood of Baltimore this afternoon. She went into both my neighbor’s yard and then the abandoned property next door. She set a trap. We do have a feral cat colony here in our neighborhood, but they are in the process of being TNRed by several reputable rescue organizations. Unfortunately, we also have some people with outdoor pet cats who are allowed to run loose. I have photographed her car and reported her to police non-emergency. Animal Control has also been notified.

I confronted her, and she began by claiming she was “saving” these “starving” cats. When i said i knew who she was and that she was taking them to the Baltimore County shelter (a high-kill shelter), she began to get belligerent. I told her to move along. She did not, and i phoned the police (who didn’t come, actually). I told her i worked with a rescue and we didn’t need her “assistance” killing cats. She then tried to tell me she had two kittens i should take in and foster. I told her that i was willing to do this, but she’d have to contact the foster organization for intake, since i’m not high enough up in the organization to admit new fosters, but that i’d agree to be the one who takes care of them if she does. She then started to yell that i was clearly lying and the kittens “aren’t even sick.”

She eventually went away and took her empty trap with her.

I’ve since found out that she is affiliated with Alley Animals (which is in no way the same as the Alley Cat Allies rescue), who have some history of using euthanasia as a first option. I’ve also found out from a neighbor that her indoor cat who had escaped was found at the BC shelter with his collar nowhere to be found and had been turned in by this same lady. Thankfully, he was chipped.

If anyone would like to see the photo of her vehicle, please feel free to email me at: gry fa ll yn — at — gmail. I don’t want to post her license plate in public.
