My boyfriend and I are planning on going as the preppy kids from The Purge. We’re wearing clothes we already have and the masks are $12 at Spirit of Halloween!
I’m just really annoyed by Jezebel because they constantly make feminists look like idiots. Tearing down women younger than you trying to raise money for cancer research is not progressive, it’s stupid.
It’s hilarious to me that people care more about this than the cultural appropriation at Urban Outfitters and the sexual harassment at American Apparel
Just because you have friends that are of the same orientation as you doesn’t mean you’re automatically attracted to them or trying to date them. The gay men I know that are in fraternities have a rule amongst each other to not date brothers to keep the drama out of their brotherhood.
If you read the articles I’ve sent you, her real name is Donna. It probably hurts her more than you know when you call her by the name she no longer goes by. It’s fine if you don’t want to read what I sent you but please respect the trans people you know.
Transvestite is not the preferred term for trans individuals. If you’d like to educate yourself more on the subject there’s tons of information on the GLAAD website.
The root of the problem with the sorority stereotype is the mysogyny it implies. The fact that we’re expected to be beautiful, domesticated women with no brains is not a problem that only effects sorority members. If we approached these problems on behalf of women in general instead of only advocating for those who are already in a position of privilege, it would seem a lot less ridiculous.
Honestly if these types of articles didn’t have the word “drunk” in the first paragraph they’d probably get a lot more views. When you’re trying to show people the work we do and break the stereotype it’s counterproductive to say that we’d rather be drinking than doing philanthropy work.
This article is SO IMPORTANT. Glad I’m not the only one who notices the crazy double standard perpetuated by our organizations. This problem is seen in every aspect of sorority life, from how we socialize and discipline each other to how we recruit.
As sorority women we need to take a stand against the way women are treated in our society. Sexism and racism has run rampant in VH1’s programming long before this. I’m glad the Greek community can stand in solidarity against this horrible show.

His and Ruby Rose’s friendship may be the only good thing to come out of this phase in his career

Is this supposed to be throwing shade at Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood video? I can’t decide
Who gave you the ability to define bravery? It comes in many forms.
This is very reminiscent of “Pinot Noir” by Titus Andromedon

Transvestite hasn’t been an appropriate word since the 80s. The Wikipedia page for the word transgender shows how it has evolved over time.

Tranny is a slur. I’m sure joining a sisterhood would be very beneficial to many transgendered girls though!
This is incredible. So glad you guys covered the story!

Another answer to the question: if you think you’re not good enough, you won’t be. Having confidence can take you far during recruitment!
I just really need everyone to stop being so pretentious. Wearing certain clothes doesn’t make you better than anyone.

I don’t think TSM has ever pretended to be a serious blog
