These articles that try to glamorize “killing yourself to look good” are beyond ridiculous. I’ve struggled with anorexia and this kind of bullshit is how full-blown eating disorders begin. I’m not an aggressive person but seeing shit like this makes me want to strangle people who try to make your body eating away at itself seem glamorous. If you honestly aspire to this kind of crap, even just for a season, you clearly have no idea about healthy body image. There are so many other ways to look great without causing potentially permanent damage to your body. If you think that starving yourself is necessary, you have seriously distorted thinking and probably need to seek help.
RecruitmentChairTSM, I feel bad, not only for you but really for all readers who try to follow in your footsteps. It’s one thing to starve yourself, but encouraging these behaviors in a way that makes them seem chic girls already struggling under an enormous amount of societal pressure is disgraceful. Please think about the message you are sending to your readers.

As someone who has had a serious eating disorder, I find this article to be offensive. It is promoting not only unhealthy, but potentially life-threatening habits among girls who already deal with an excessive amount of societal pressure. No one should ever feel that they “…must spend at least three hours on the elliptical and two hours on the treadmill everyday”, “must only consume food eaten by rabbits” and “must take at least three laxatives and supplement them with three gallons of water spiked with Miralax” in order to look good in a dress. Do you even realize what message you’re sending? You’re doing (potentially long-term) damage to your body to look good in a fucking dress for ONE NIGHT. There are other ways to look fantastic and they don’t include any of the ridiculous shit you’re encouraging.
“I highly recommend watching “True Life: I’m a Drunkorexic” for inspiration.” Are you fucking kidding me? If you’ve actually seen this and think it’s inspiration you are utterly delusional. The girl on it HAD AN EATING DISORDER. Do you actually aspire to live your life that way? Even if it’s only for a week, the damage could last a lot longer than that (both mentally and physically). This one week regime could turn into life-long habits and a life’s worth of dysmorphic thoughts about the way you think your body should be. Even if you are doing this for one week you clearly already have a no idea about how to go about having healthy body-image in life and THAT’S a problem.
