I agree with you. But as I was told by a “friend” in NPHC when I spouted my opinion against the show, “D9 business is D9 business. Stay out of it.” You’d be surprised how many of my Panhellenic sisters have spoken out AGAINST the show, and D9 greeks on our campus have told them to “stay in their lane” and “mind their own business.”

The show spotlights NPHC sororities, first and foremost. Whether you believe it or not, yes we are all Greek but they are two different animals. The women on this show aren’t being portrayed too far off from how the women in their sororities are in real life. Yes, it is wrong that their Greek letters are being exploited, but for them to claim that they are being portrayed inaccurately is false. People in my FAMILY act just like this. They act like because they are AKA’s, they can’t be seen with Deltas, or if they are one of the aforementioned, they’re too good to be seen with Zetas or SGRho’s.
And do you know WHY they chose these sororities and not ours? Well, number 1, look at the target market of VH1. Also, our nationals aren’t afraid to snatch letters when someone is out of control. Prime example: Trishelle from the Real World. No, she didn’t exploit Chi Omega on the show, but her behavior on the show was enough for them to cancel her membership and distance the organization from her.
