While it’s true that some people overestimate what doctors make, there are plenty of non-surgical specialties that do make a ton of money (radiology, anesthesiology, etc.) Where I’m from most general practitioners make upwards of $200,000 a year.
Things aren’t so great for MBA graduates either. However,you’re right, many new lawyers are pretty much screwed; there are simply too many of them and not nearly enough jobs. With all that being said, med is definitely a much better field to go into from the job security aspect.
