This “column” (I put column in quotes because this piece of writing is hardly worthy of the term column) is hypocritical in so many ways. To begin, the first two things you should thank your boyfriend for are both related to telling you how beautiful you are. How fucking vain can someone be?
And also, you mention your boyfriend not getting upset when you “don’t feel like being touched” (which sounds totally bitchy) or when you “ditch him for your friends”, when you know very well that you would be pissed or losing your shit if your boyfriend did anything like that.
This creates an unrealistic expectation for how men should treat women. It’s unfair how women can pick and choose when they want to be treated like a lady, or when they want to stand on their own two feet and “grow a pair”. You can’t change who people are, you just have to let them be. From what it sounds like, all you girls try so hard to mold your men into these perfect little Ken dolls that will brush your flowing blonde hair and tell you how gorgeous you are everyday. WAKE UP!
If this is what you think being in a meaningful relationship is about than you have some serious personal growth to make.
