That half an inch of skin showing isn’t something that calls for public humiliation. The girl went to a new school to learn, not to be made a spectacle on her third day. Schools have gotten ridiculous about dress codes (my private, all-girls high school didn’t let us wear certain sports bras because the strap would show under our Oxfords and distract the boys at an entirely different school, a block away.) It’s unnecessary, and it’s extremely heinous to say that this girl should basically accept bullying from adults that are there to provide her with an education.
