I can see your point; however, it would be a logistical nightmare to change the brand’s sizing. J.Crew recently opened a store in Hong Kong. So by now countless tiny, petite Asian ladies have gone into the store, have found that the XXS and 00 are too big, and have left empty handed. By releasing a new size, these women are more apt to come back than if sizes just magically changed. Also, why change a brand’s sizing for one location? The majority of J.Crew’s client base is extremely brand loyal. They certainly would not appreciate the sizing change. In store customers would have meltdowns in the fitting room and the number of returns and exchanges would sky rocket for online shoppers. Sales would undoubtedly fall. Besides, when US J.Crew stores receive inventory, they will receive one, if any, size 000 per item. That is such a small amount of inventory to get butthurt over.
