Everything about your comment is what is wrong with most of this country…… You are only saying this because you have been on the side lines watching this all happen and watching others go thru it. If you went through what people are fighting to change then you would be right next to them fighting for racial equality for all. Instead of saying to let it just happen.
If your child was bullied and called names constantly at school and felt threatened, then you would fight. and im sure outraged if someone replied, “we arent going to try to fight bullying in schools, and just simply let it happen.”
Why are you going after, Butler, a person who is trying to stand up for what they believe in? While you are in turn supporting no one. Racism is a very real issue and even while it is happening on your very own campus you choose to not see it and instead blame a him for dividing a campus that was already obviously divided if such racist incidents have occurred.
He went on a hunger strike, a very peaceful form of protesting, and you call him “deluded and self-involved” What are you saying about Ghandi and MLK?
Wolfe… Had a job. One he did not do. What if something happened to you and your friends on campus and you went to him for help and he ignored you? Or if you were protesting and his driver clipped one of your friends?
Your professors and instructors are walking out with these masses of students supporting them…. Do you really think they are ALL blind to the real issue? because it seems the truly blind person is you.
This isn’t just about Butler, this issue is about our campus system as a whole and the well being of your fellow Tigers and UM students.
