“In the end, all of the trouble we go to in an effort to look “chill” ends up backfiring and making us look psycho anyway.”
Wow this is so true- we spend time stalking to learn more about a guy only so we can “save face” by not texting him. This article is spot on. My exes in high school broke up because we weren’t progressing fast enough, same with my hookups in college, honestly glad I never gave in, because that there is sign enough that they weren’t worth it.
Thank you! This needed to be said! Well written and valid points.
Calling all girls “crazy” also demeans circumstances where girls are ACTUALLY crazy… like when your ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend writes fake harrassing emails to herself and claims the ex-girlfriend did it, not that I’m speaking from experience or anything…
Actually, my bigger issue with T.Swift is that she makes the same mistakes over and over again. She is naive, and continually dates guys who are notorious assholes (John Mayer, anyone?) and then expects them to be her “prince charming”… when obviously they would not.
She’s that annoying girl who fucks up with guys for the attention and drama, searching for pity because she got “screwed over” by her “fairytale” love.
I agree with what you’ve written here, but still the word “need” makes me cringe. It seems that your title, and premise then, should have more aptly be named “Yes, I’m a Relationship Kind of Girl.” A lot of people are, a lot of people aren’t. But nowadays this “needing a boyfriend” terminology most often (correctly) implies that the girl is obsessed, unable to be independent, craves love and will do anything to find it even when it’s obvious that it’s not a real relationship.
A real woman could do it all by herself, but a real man wouldn’t let her.
But if a guy is interested in you, he will want to continue that conversation. There’s a difference between being busy and then responding later to a text versus never responding at all to a text that clearly requires a response.
If a guy wants to make it happen, and you’re putting it out there in a normal way, he will respond and make it happen… just not necessarily within .25 seconds.
Agreed, especially on the college is an investment part.

Now what I’d like to see is a list that takes into account most beautiful campuses AND most beautiful people.
Hmmm, sounds like something the crazy Courtney from The Bachelor would do for Ben. Coincidence? I think not…
