The #freethenipple movement has been around for years and now that it has gone mainstream, people are running with it without really understanding it. It’s about trying to end the over-sexualization of women’s body parts that were never even meant to be sexual in the first place. Since the only place women’s nipples can be shown is in pornos and strip clubs, they are seen as only sexual objects and when women try to use them for their real prupose (breast feeding) in public, it’s seen as inappropriate and indecent. Saying that hiding female nipples is the way to keep men interested is only promoting that idea. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion and views but if you really think that exposing women’s nipples will take away from our power, i think you need to reevaluate what a powerful woman is. Also it’s not about trying to overpower men, it’s about equality. Men weren’t allowed to be shirtless in public either until the 1950s and now they are trying to keep us from the same liberty when we’re the ones that actually need our nipples. I’m not trying to say anyone’s wrong but i think everyone should look into the real meaning of the movement more and be fully informed before they make their own judgments.
