How hypocritical can you be? Not only are you insulting my mother and her parenting style, but now you are personally insulting me. My mom worked hard and she taught my brother and me how to work hard as well. She is one of the smartest people and I know and she has dedicated all of her time into making her children be the best that they can possibly be. I would say I turned out pretty well considering my grasp on reality is fairly solid. I have had some very real experiences that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I admit, the way the author of this column went about her arguments wasn’t the best way to make a point and was rude to a large group of people. However, that doesn’t give you the right to judge people that you don’t even know.
Want to know when I’m waited on? When I’m sick, which I’m sure your mom did too. When I was little, as soon as I was old enough I stopped being waited on. I did my laundry, I made my lunches, I was a perfect student; overall I was very self-sustained because my mom taught me how to be. And you know what? I can’t wait to get married because I see how happy my mom and dad are together and I want what they have. But I’m not rushing to get married, I know I’ll meet the right guy and my time will come, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting love.
I’m sure your mom is wonderful, I get that. You would die for you mother? So would I. How about you don’t insult her. Try not to make such sweeping and offensive statements next time you feel the urge to voice your opinion about sweeping and offensive statements.
