Being a girl of the 90’s and growing up with this as the sleep-over-movie (as many of us did), I think this would have been a great addition to the movie. No, it doesn’t change the entire plot, but it gives us a better look on the “mean girls”. Regina was awful, and so was Cady, but Cady receives redemption by the end of the movie. Regina, however, still seems to have her issues and only fits in with the rough-and-tough jock girls. This deleted interaction sheds light on a nicer side of Regina, and shows the audience that these two could at least be civil, maybe friendly people by the end. It lets us know that even mean girls can turn out alright, and nobody is really that evil deep (sometimes very)-down.
This is part of why I love Greek life. You go, Daniel!!
