I’m a Sweet Briar upperclasswomen and I LOVE Sweet Briar. Sweet Briar is my safe haven and I seriously cannot believe that this ever happened. I agree with your opinion, but please do not blame this entire school. We, excluding the girl(s) who did this, are women trying to make a difference in this world. Sorry, but you should really get your facts straight before you say things like, “older girls ransacked a freshman dorm and placed signs all over bathroom doors and water fountains.” No one on campus, except for those involved, knows who did this horrible act. We do not have security cameras in our hallways because we have a strict honor code, we trust each other, and we are supposed to be sisters. Honestly, in my opinion, I do think this was a freshman’s actions. They’ve been here for not even a week. They don’t know what our school is like. They might not understand our strict honor code as well as the upperclasswomen do. In my opinion, this person’s actions are disgusting, and I really wish that they come forward because even I will be called a racist, which I am absolutely not. In the words of our Student Body president, “Do not let this singular act cloud over your opinion of what Sweet Briar Women represent or what they are capable of. Sweet Briar Women are the Change and possess the power to move beyond this incident together.”
Also, just for the record, not everyone at Sweet Briar rides and goes to H-SC.
