  • Volunteer_Traditions 11 years ago on Lipscomb University Geed Suggests "Pre-Country Club Major" For Greeks

I am a student at Lipscomb and a proud member of the Greek life and I just want to clear a couple things up. Our Greek clubs aren’t nationally recognized but we have just as much pride, traditions, alumni, and experiences as national fraternities do. Only freshman have a curfew on campus. Yes, our pledging is only 10 days but we manage to fit as much hazing and terror into those 10 days as you guys fit into an entire semester. I got 14 hours of sleep in the 10 days of my pledging. The actives made me hate them and made me bond with my pledge class like every pledge does in national fraternities. Also, our pledging is highly monitored by the deans, so we have to do all the same stuff you guys do without being caught. I’ve spent many nights in cornfields with pledges to know that our pledging process is one of the hardest and our Greek life is something to be very proud of. We have as many blackout drunk stories as you guys do. I love my brothers more than anything and would do anything for them. Isn’t that what being Greek is about? Not if we have national fraternities or not? I’m extremely proud to be a member of the Greek life here at Lipscomb and we hate geeds as much as you do. I love my club and will have my brothers until I die. Drink up.
