Militant feminists are the reason I don’t like saying I’m a feminist. They WANT to be discriminated against. This is a textbook case of a privileged W&L student not getting their way, in the face of reasonable rules.
@Cristina, first, you’re applying the wrong dress code rule to the actual infraction seen in this picture. Secondly, I’d appreciate you actually doing true research into a topic, before (i) grossly misrepresenting the situation (ii) never doing a followup article to correct your misrepresentations (iii) not mistaking ignorance of reasonable rules for discrimination (omg!!! we’re being discriminated against!!! oh make it stop!!). Your “cry wolf” “articles” do a lot more harm to those out there who actually do suffer from real discrimination than you would ever imagine.
It’s an academic environment…. even the gym – where you learn body mechanics and where there are many PE classes throughout its operating hours. This isn’t a fashion show. I repeat – this is NOT A FASHION SHOW. It’s a private institution with rules and an Honor System. What does this mean? It means that there are standards. And these standards are FAIR, very reasonable, and are applied equally to guys at this gym equally as it is with girls. I know – I’ve worked out in this gym daily when I was there. All students agreed to them all when admitting themselves to the school and when signing that damn Honor System paper the first day of their freshman year. Sorry she got “sent to the corner” for being stupid. I think this pear-shaped girl is showing way too much skin. Even if she were a 10, I’d send her straight out the door. Don’t run and scream “discrimination against women” when YOU are being stupid and deliberately breaking reasonable rules. ….and before you say I’m a jerk guy…I’m a girl and I calls it as I sees it. #blessherheart
