Just because you think something is inappropriate, does not give you the right to take action against someone for saying it. This is an essential requirement of a free society! People say things that upset me and all the time, but it doesn’t give the school the right to take action against them.
It’s pretty unbelievable that a chapter can get suspended for posting what are CLEARLY JOKES in a private group messaging app. Pretty sure that this is a good time for freedom of speech to come into play, however the modern set of American ethics only allows speech that is universally agreeable. We should amend the constitution to to say “Freedom of non-upsetting speech”. What a time to be alive.

Im also extremely disappointed with the authors inability to understand the sarcastic nature of the messages (12 y.o sex should have been a dead giveaway). Its my own fault really. I should have known what quality of journalism I would be receiving based on TSM’s recent articles.
