If you notice, the post is from TFM Interns so safe to say it’s a joke. I think the title is poking fun at how often these posts have been coming in lately.
Thank you for writing this article; it’s sparked an important conversation on a topic that is rarely acknowledged. I think the important thing for women to take from this is to know that the majority of us have had this experience (which is not okay) and to know that it’s OKAY to speak up and say no, even if it seems like the awkward thing to do and even if we’re afraid of what our partner might say. It’s unfair for women to have to experience sex they don’t necessarily want just to please their partner.
The tweet wasn’t directed at taylor (evidence points to Miley) but regardless she never said that their videos got nominated just bc they’re skinny white girls. She was saying that even though her vid broke records like theirs did, she believes she wasn’t nominated because the industry doesn’t promote fuller black girls in the same way it promotes skinny white girls. THAT’S the conversation everyone should be having.
I completely agree that it’s counterproductive of her to be promoting body negativity by calling out “skinny bitches.” At the same time, this argument diminishes her point that fuller sized women are celebrated far less in the industry than skinny women which is what this article focuses on. To say that you dislike or disagree with her & the point that she’s making now because she said something problematic before is just stupid, sorry. People can make good points and and still be wrong about other things; don’t discount what she’s saying now even if it seems contradictory to what she said before.
