I actually really hate TSMs responses. They are too flippant, and don’t help the case for feminism. You =/= all women could be said about any woman who claims that we need feminism because all women walk around with a constant fear of rape. Men have issues too, and a jab at an ex-boyfriend is a ridiculous response. And it’s worth looking at how some forms of feminism encourage girls to feel victimized instead of empowered. But all of these things – these are all feminist things! Men are capable of love and respect toward women. This is a feminist idea! Men have issues too. This is a feminist idea! Equality, not entitlement. This is a feminist idea! Stop telling me society objectifies me. This is a feminist idea! Empowerment over victim-hood. This is a feminist idea! Because the thing is that feminism is a conversation. It’s not one viewpoint, it’s a goal, and there are many ways to get there, and all the people who share this goal don’t have the same idea about how to get there.
