I try to be on the Greek Life side of things but Iowa has been making it really hard to defend high-class, high-quality women in the Greek society. With Alpha Phi’s recruitment song “scandal” and now this?
Good choices ladies, it’s not that hard, I promise.
Alpha “FEE” dammit. The fact that she pronounces it incorrectly takes away from her credibility and pisses me off almost more than the situation itself.
AOE, Beta Mu members.
If you take this, or any other article you read on this site “literally”, you are what’s wrong with the world.
It’s satirical. Laugh. Don’t like it? Don’t read it.
And no I’m not disagreeing with you because I’m racist, for the record. I just don’t like your opinion. Sorry, not sorry.
While I don’t know if this was the best approach to the situation, she’s got an excellent point. Can’t say anything these days without one group or another getting overly butthurt.
All in favor of them doing this with Non-Greeks? Let’s see how many average university students use alcohol, partake in sexual misconduct or property damage etc., etc., outside of the Greek system.
A prostitute by any other name is still a prostitute. You can call yourself anything you want, but if you have ever had sex for money, you have been a prostitute.
If you’ve never been in a “sexual sugar” relationship then maybe you can argue that it’s not prostitution, however, I’m going to guess that by your level of defense, you’ve probs had sex for money.
I would be so far beyond pissed. All hell would break loose.
That being said, if you read the original article, it was actually the brides idea that the man propose to her sister/maid of honor at the reception with all of the family there. Everyone pictured knew that it was going to happen with the exception of the woman being proposed to.
Don’t ridicule the guy if you don’t know the story. The poor man wanted to propose on the beach, the bride talked him into doing it at her reception, and now he’s one of the most hated men on the Internet.
I think if they truly valued women (not sex) they would be “romantic” and attempt to win women over in a more old-fashioned, respectful way.
Saying “Hey, come have lunch with me and we’ll have sex once a week, I’ll give you $5,000 every month” Isn’t exactly valuing or respecting someone. It’s mutual of course, but no matter how you spin it, it’s an exploitation of resources, those being money and sex.
I have no problem with Sugar Daddy/Baby relationships, to each her own, but I feel like “The entire basis of the relationship is that these men value women so much” is an extremely false statement.
It’s men with lots of money who:
1. Don’t attract women their age
2. Aren’t attracted to women their age
3. Want to relive the glory days of having sex with 20-something’s.
Not exactly my idea of valuing a woman, more along the lines of using one of you ask me.
Can you not take me completely literally for like 5 seconds please? As a general statement of what I’ve seen on this website, girls can get into a heated debate about the fact that Lilly is going up for Target, we can talk about penises in generally any light, and we can make jokes about getting completely inebriated. But when it comes to something that’s actually somewhat important and relevant to our society today, I get shamed for having an opinion?
We totally have our priorities straight. And for the record, I didn’t bring up abortion. I simply commented my views on it once it was in play.
I’m sorry you feel that I’m being rude and aggressive but it’s a touchy topic. Somebody might as well say it. I’m as calm as can be and I understand that you probably have a different opinion than me. I just think that if TSM tries to put ‘political’ articles out then we should be able to express our views.
Sorority girls can go on an hours-long rant about Lilly for Target but I can’t express my views on something that actually matters? I feel like that’s why people look down on us as Greeks.

This is one of those articles that says everything I’ve always thought but never known how to put into words.
And then cropping nearly the entire flag out? Makes sense.

If the half-asleep morning sex only lasts 14 minutes, he’s probably not a keeper.
Are you aware that it is not necessary to leave a comment on every single article you see? Especially about your irrelevant makeup habits.
So much for Panhel love. Someone is bitter.

Ummmm. Do you use social media outside of TSM at all?

Can’t even get through the first point without a grammar/sentence structure error.
Funny article though, and oh, so true!

Looking down on young engaged and married couples because you will forever be with your “cats and Chinese takeout” TSTC?

I’m a girl…
