I got the big I thought I wanted but we never really got close like I’d hoped we would. We didn’t have 4 years because I joined during informal spring recruitment as a sophomore and she was a senior so we had very little time together.
To put it nicely, my big and I just aren’t close. My big took twins and while at first I wasn’t thrilled I grew to absolutely love my twin. My big was a senior when my twin and I were initiated so we had less than a full semester with her (we did informal spring recruitment) and she was a commuter while we lived on campus so we basically never saw her. She showed up to chapter meetings occasionally but only because she didn’t want to get sent to standards. I’ve gotten close with another girl in my chapter who is a big to a girl in my pledge class. Over the course of this summer, I’ve heard more from her about how she can’t wait till I’m back on campus than I’ve heard from my big in general. But it’s a good learning experience for when I (hopefully) take a little this semester, I’ll be a better big than who I had.
