And if any worker is assaulted on the job by anyone, they have an L&I claim. And L&I can go after the third party guilty of the assault to cover their claim costs for the injured worker.
And even if this had happened as a crime, not involving a worker on the job, I believe LNI would pay benefits to the injured party as a “crime victim”. But I am not sure if crime victim benefits are the same as injured worker benefits or not.
