We had a school shooting threat on our campus last year because some guy posted on yik yak that he would start shooting at a certain time the next day. Thankfully nothing happened and no one was harmed. But regardless I have hated this app ever since.
I suffer with severe depression and I can honestly say, other than my big and little, no one knows. It’s not something we usually notice in one another. Most days it just gets looked at as a rough day. And in some cases it can be. I don’t flaunt my affliction around so I don’t blame anyone for not knowing. But I can say we’ve discussed it before and most of my sisters see it as a cry for help not a disease. It saddens me to know I can’t be recognized as having a “real” sickness.
