Although this is a bizarre situation I’d imagine the woman must be absolutely mortified, it’s pretty disgusting and unprofessional that the company would make statements like that to the media.
I agree with you on the concept that there are different strokes for different folks. What works for you might not work for me and vice versa. There’s no need to put down one type of dating compared to another!
I have a lot of close guy friends. But after the experience of having [a dick of a] boyfriend with many girl friends, the girlfriend ends up feeling alienated. And the reality is, if a guy is in a committed relationship, the girlfriend should be his best friend. With my close guy friends, if they get a girlfriend, I back the hell off. The reality is, they’ll always be my friends as they cycle through the different girls they date. But I have to respect their relationships. I can have my pizza and beer nights with someone else. I can call different people with my problems. I’ve also found that by doing this, the guys girlfriend and I seem to come to a place of mutual respect and it’s all good in the hood.
You’re obviously entitled to your opinion but in my experience many women view the world beautiful to describe who they are as a person in addition to physical attractiveness. Many people could argue the difference between hot and beautiful or pretty and beautiful or even gorgeous and beautiful. It is completely correct to interpret it both ways.
Idk… Perception is reality. If your boyfriend is the only person who thinks you’re beautiful, you are. If your mother tells you you’re a strong person because you’ve been through hell and back, you are. If you choose to be confident, you will be. Doesn’t mean you’re the most beautiful, the strongest, or the smartest. But yes, you can be beautiful, strong, smart, funny, and whatever the hell else you want.
And if you type the word “beautiful” into dictionary.com, it says “having beauty; possessing qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc.; delighting the senses or mind.”
I think it’s safe to say the word is up for interpretation. This is just mine 🙂
I’m not sure I agree with this. While I understand what you are saying and I think we all know a few girls like Marisa, I truly think beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I look at my little and wonder why she can’t find a good guy and tell her she is beautiful inside and out because she truly is. Is she a modelesque show stopper? No. But is cute as hell, her laugh makes you laugh, she has the brightest eyes and she can dance like nobody else. She is captivating and I see it and want her to find a man that sees that as well. My friends, they all look different. But each one of them IS beautiful in her own way. I think the word “beautiful” describes more than just an appearance.
Stealing is bad. Stealing from your sisters is worse. Being an established adult stealing from college women, many of whom put themselves through school and pay their own dues… Unforgivable. I hope the national office rips her letters from her. She is the opposite of a Panhellenic woman.
Okay, there is no reason whatsoever to take the time to look through someone’s previous commentary just to turn it around and use it to insult her. Please grow up and do something else with your life. You are being a bully and that disrespectful behavior does not make anyone want to hear out the points you are trying to make.
My point was to keep it pink, keep it what it is, but it doesn’t need to have the word “girls” on the label. Not because I think once you do a rush of boys are going to pick up barbies (although my brother loved barbies and surprise! He’s not gay. Kids just like new and exciting toys), but to say that this aisle is where girls belong is silly. Everything in the store is for girls and boys. It’s for children. Girls can go buy puzzles, books, action figures, bikes and plenty of other things that aren’t labelled for them. It’s literally just pointless and unnecessary to have the label. Just as it was completely unnecessary for you to bully a girl you don’t even know online. Please try to argue in a way that is more mature and maybe people will listen to you.
“When girls walk into the store, they know exactly where to go.” Yes, exactly. Young girls and their feminine brains might get lost if they just saw Barbies that weren’t labelled specifically for girls. They might accidentally buy a puzzle or a book instead! Thank goodness Toys R Us has such amazing marketing!!!!
Turco, I think the point that the other commenters on this thread are making (correct me if I’m wrong) is that it doesn’t need to be specifically labelled “girls.” It’s just a pink aisle. It is what it is.
It reminds me of when I was a kid and once in a blue moon, my mom would take me to McDonald’s and order me a happy meal. The drive thru worker would always ask “is it for a boy or a girl?” And my mom would always say boy because we both agreed that the “girl” toys sucked. The question should’ve been changed to “would you like a power ranger or a Barbie” (or whatever the options were). You can be girly and still choose the Barbie, but it doesn’t need to be called “the girl toy.” It’s just a toy. Hell, give it to your dog. Who cares? It’s not about adjusting marketing to be politically correct, it’s about the fact that the gender-specific labeling is obnoxious, forms assumptions, and is entirely unnecessary.
Lol I thought Ariel and Tiana’s cuts were cute!
Not a huge fan of Lena but she handled this with grace and an awesome sense of humor. Great article!
I had no idea about this! Thanks for bring it up!
This story makes me feel so warm inside! I’m so glad you had such a pleasant experience!

Coca Cola really has a fantastic marketing team. What a cool new move!
Chills.

It has nothing to do with her… It has to do with the genuine members who don’t want want the association. But thanks for your usual obnoxious comment.

Let’s stop talking about her… By taking the time to write an entire article about her and making the cover photo a closeup of her face.

18 and 23 REALLY grind my gears.
