This is definitely me! #21 hits home (see my username), and I absolutely love The Golden Girls. I helped a friend just yesterday go shopping for an outfit because she wanted to make sure that I helped her find something appropriate. Honestly, all of these fit me to a ‘t’ except #28… but only because no one hits on me…. although that may relate back to the fact that I avoid bars, and stay home on weekends watching “An Affair to Remember” and singing along to Frank Sinatra. 🙂

  • WWBD 9 years ago on Why Sorority Recruitment Is Horrible And Needs To Change

Thank you so much for this post. While my recruitment experience wasn’t bad, it did come as a shock when I, as an honor high school student with many extracurriculars, was dropped by my “top” choices after day one. For me, it all worked out for the best, as I truly feel like I’m where I was meant to be. But, my school’s Greek system is pretty different than most, and has an overall friendly demeanor, as well as a 96% acceptance rate. However, my (well-qualified) sister went through a much rougher recruitment process at a large state school. After a very negative experience her freshman year, she decided to have another go at it as a junior, where she was promptly dropped from all the houses. Luckily, she has had the opportunity now to re-colonize a chapter on her campus. After seeing the horrible process that she had to endure, I truly believe that the recruitment process needs to be changed. Sororities are organizations that are supposed to promote confidence and positive experiences for women, not tear them apart. We can, and should, do better.
