You make it out to seem that you’re just set up with a boy through your parents when you can’t find someone on your own. “Let’s bring back arranged marriages!!” There are STILL a fuckton of women who are expected to marry one of the men their parents pick out. A key part of the arranged marriage is a dowry, which is another way to basically treat a woman like property. Divorce rates are lower among arranged marriages but only because they’re so prevalent in cultures that frown upon divorce for ANY reason. This article kinda sucked.
100% agreed. Personally speaking the “greek life” stereotype is probably the least damaging of the stereotypes that I have to deal with, considering the fact that I’m a WOC.
can you write more stuff? i think you and your girlfriend are absolutely adorable and it’s super refreshing hearing from someone who’s not straight while also being in the greek community!!!
while I’m sorry about what happened to you, you do not get to victim blame the author of this article because you think you have to be kicking, screaming, fighting your rapist for it to be rape. if you are raped IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. she was visibly uncomfortable, which doesn’t make her an active participant, WHICH MAKES IT RAPE.
Okay but like… I’m pretty sure she meant the whole “we may not be xyz” thing not as what top-tier sororities think of themselves, but more as like what people outside of the “bottom-tier” think of the “bottom-tier” sorority. Everybody has preconceived notions of what a certain chapter at a school is like and the fact of the matter is is that when you’re in one that’s seen as bottom tier you are seen has not having the “prettiest, richest, most popular” whatever
i really wanted to be in a sorority that understood that my culture is important to me and would always come first. the one that made me feel like they cared, understood, and wanted to learn more about it and me was one of the newer sororities on campus that not a lot of girls wanted to be in. so yeah, this really hit home for me haha
THESE ARE MY FAVORITE ARTICLES!!! They’re spookily accurate because I only ever seem to talk to dudes who have bland, generic names. I need more.
Trust me. I’m Indian, my parents were arranged and so were most of my friends’ parents.

I think 1 and 8 are tied for most offensive, tbh

i feel like it’s not a matter of whether or not a guy is a fuckboy, it’s more like “on a scale from 1-10, how big of a fuckboy is he”
