“We have got to stop calling each other sluts and whores.” Tina Fey said that in like 2004, so why are we STILL calling girls sluts for enjoying sex or having multiple partners? You like flirting, cool. Other girls like to follow through on that flirting? Cool! (Even cooler, in my opinion, because nobody gets an orgasm from flirting.) You’re not a better person for flirting with people instead of sleeping with them.

  • confused 8 years ago on Most Dateable Majors, By Rank

Yeah there’s NO jobs that relate to being an English major. It’s not like journalism, publishing, communications, public/media relations, policy analysis, copywriting, advertising etc. don’t all require people with the strong written/verbal communication, analytical, and research skills that studying English teaches you. (Sincerely, an English major who has already had two awesome jobs that directly relate to her degree).

  • confused 8 years ago on How To Get A Banging Internship

Wow I feel like this was a totally useless article so here’s how to ACTUALLY get a good internship:
-Most universities have career websites and offices where jobs are posted. Go there to get help with your resume + cover letter and to find potential job opportunities. Lots of schools also have internship programs so see if yours has one!
-Personally, our chapter advisor for my sorority was in a pretty high-up position in human resources and gave tons of professional advice on landing jobs, interviewing, and creating a standout resume so see if yours can do this as well!
-If you aren’t right now, you should be volunteering and working during the school year. You need references, work experience and tangible skills to land a good summer job. Volunteer in a lab if you’re looking to go into anything STEM related (talk to your profs who are usually looking to take on student trainees), write for your school newspaper if you’re into anything writing/journalism/communications/media related, volunteer with kids if you want to go into teaching or counselling etc. etc. and of course take on positions within your sorority.
-There are so many other things but PSA don’t wait til your last year of school to do this stuff.

  • confused 8 years ago on I'm Glad Chivalry Is Dead

“Chivalry: the sum of the ideal qualifications of a knight, including courtesy, generosity, valour or dexterity in arms; the rules and customs of medieval knighthood developed between 1170 and 1220.” Haha obviously that’s not today’s definition. I get that this author is saying that the content of your personality is more important than following a set of customs that society deems proper, but I don’t think chivalry itself needs to be seen as a negative concept. I think if more men were held to this standard still, it would actually be better, but each woman has a different idea of what she wants in a man and that’s okay too.

  • confused 8 years ago on Never Settle For An "Almost" Relationship

So many guys try to pull the semi-relationship thing, and honestly, you tell yourself that it’s better than not having him at all. But in reality? He gets the advantage of having the best parts of you: you caring about him, getting to sleep with you, take you as his date to stuff, whatever. But you are the one that ends up hurt at the end or who gets the short end of the stick. If you’re not on the same page as someone, as hard as it is to do, you HAVE to cut it off with them for your own sake. <3

  • confused 8 years ago on How To Guarantee You'll Get Laid, Part Four: Don't Boy Proof

HAHAHAHA I’m not kidding you, this almost exact scenario actually happened to me last weekend. But also, why do guys get mad about this when it’s clear you’re casual? Like, if they don’t want you hooking up with other people, then they should say something. Otherwise they literally have no right to get mad over stuff like this.

  • confused 8 years ago on Donald Trump Is Low Key Creeping On This Delta Zeta

Can’t speak for Ryan Gosling but I’m pretty sure he’s educated enough not say something that incredibly stupid/demeaning. I’m not sure why it needs to be explained to you how “you’d make a beautiful girlfriend” as an opening comment to someone is in any way professional, respectful, or mature, esp. coming from someone running for president. It a) purports the view that all that matters is how she looks; b) is unasked for and unwanted comments on her physical appearance and c) refers to her as a potential partner for a man, rather than who she actually is. Anyone with a modicum of self respect would find this frustrating and weird (guy or girl).

  • confused 8 years ago on Here's Taylor Swift's Full Speech If You Still Don't Know What Happened At The GRAMMYs Last Night

I mean, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if you were really looking to respect/idolize a woman who empowers others and breaks records, there are SO many other women in the world who do that and have been doing it most lives, rather than someone who just jumped on the feminism bandwagon a year or so ago and definitely uses it as a marketing strategy to promote herself. I don’t hate TSwift, but there’s not too much substance to her beyond being a calculated business woman. She’s not saying anything new about feminism, she’s not taking any risks, she’s not challenging anything or pushing any boundaries that haven’t already been broken. There’s nothing wrong with liking her, but see her for what she is at least.

  • confused 8 years ago on Guys Tell All: What They Want From You In Bed

While everyone likes different things, it is super important for you both to communicate. If something doesn’t feel good, tell your partner! If something feels awesome, definitely tell them that too. If your uncomfortable doing so verbally, then find a way to show them physically. Every guy I’ve been with has agreed with this, because honestly sometimes they’re just as unsure as you are if what they’re doing is working. This goes for any partner/gender you have and I would say is one of the keys to having great sex. 🙂

  • confused 8 years ago on My Boyfriend Is An A**hole

Exactly. My dad always told me that if you want to know what a guy is really like, look at how he treats EVERYONE around him – not just you. Any guy is capable of being nice to a girl that he wants something from, but if he’s an asshole to the waiter/anyone in a service position, his teachers, his classmates, that random girl he used to hook up with and dumped…that should tell you everything you need to know about his character.
