I don’t understand what is so groundbreaking about this. Obesity is gross, AND it’s unhealthy. Anyone who pretends otherwise is living in a fantasy world.

And “I was born this way” is bullshit. Just watch a season of “The Biggest Loser”. Obviously its difficult to lose the weight – but it unquestionably possible. There is a difference between a woman with healthy curves (which I very much prefer over emaciated models) and a woman who is unhealthily obese.

It sounds like you’re in agreement with hot piece then… being obese, statistically and genetically, is [in general] unattractive and unhealthy. If an obese person is willing to accept these negative social and health aspects in order to eat whatever they want and live a sedentary lifestyle, then more power to them. And if they are perfectly happy with this, even more power to them, and there’s really no need to heap excessive scorn upon them.

Part of that bargain, of course, is that they can’t have their cake and eat it too [see what I did there?]. Men and women can’t have the benefits of the obese lifestyle – eating sugary and fatty foods and rarely exercising – without dealing with the attendant unattractiveness and undeniable health consequences. Even in the societies around the world that place greater value on “full-figure” women, obesity is still considered unattractive. Thus, rather than trying to ignore the elephant in the room [see…I did something there, too] and pretending that a grotesquely obese woman is beautiful, the message should simply be “your girth and weight are not attractive, but it’s your choice to live that lifestyle and if you’re happy with that, then that’s all that matters”.

What’s the point of it though? The bake sale presented an abstract idea – admissions benefits solely based on race – in a format that clearly showed why it is immoral.

This just seems kind of dumb, even if it brings attention to an important issue. I could wear a Kony 2012 shirt and beat off on a San Diego street corner to bring attention to an issue, but it wouldn’t be the most intelligent/effective method of doing so…
