Actually I’m in education and the opposite is true. They tend to favor family minded people as they are viewed as more “stable.” Also women who value marriage and having kids are more likely to work in education because of the shorter workdays and being off when their kids are off so, makes sense. I still think bias either way is BS
I have a shit ton of personal stories about being attacked by black girls in neighboring towns growing up because I was white, being harassed and grabbed and threatened by black men, and being treated poorly in general by many black people for no good reason other than the difference in our skin color. But should I come out and complain about this and label it something the way white privilege has been labeled? If i did so I would be called a racist and hated by most people regardless of their race. Focusing on that crap takes the attention OFF the deeply rooted systemic issues, that ACTUALLY need our attention, not some wealthy attention-seeking brat who just wants to cause a scene.
By the way despite these experiences I am still not racist because I believe people choose to be either good people or shitty people on an individual level – But really, I’m SO fucking sorry that that one time a cop pulled me over for speeding, he didn’t ask me how i bought my car.
Guys, shut up. I know personally that Veronica had at least a 3.3, a very difficult major and could have gone to med school if she wanted. I partied constantly and got into a prestigious grad program and am now a well-paid psychologist. In my opinion, college was equally as much about grades as learning to be balanced and well rounded. I still have intense, lasting friendships with the very people I accidentally blacked out and danced on bars with, some of whom helped me with job connections, hooked me up with friends in new cities, etc. A well-rounded, street smart, fun and entertaining people person is more attractive to most employers than an annoying judgmental nag with a high GPA.
Sincerely,
smart and productive enough to make the most of college AND graduate in the top 20% of my class.
TEAM BROOKE. When you love someone, you don’t spend years treating them like garbage and then suddenly wake up and decide you’re ready. I hope she never comes back to you.
As a psychologist with a PhD… you’re an idiot.
bye kendall.

“The way you would say unimaginably horrible things to me, and mock me as I cried”
