My lineage is crazy. I recently visited campus for revelation (my last little just took another little). Two littles, one God-little, four grandlittles, two great-grand littles, two great-great grand littles. Not to mention full lines from my greek cousins as well. And where I’m from, fraternity men have “pledge sons” and choose “pledge moms” for their sons. So, I have two pledge sons, two grandsons and two great grandsons. I also have a “p-dot” or panhel little…at one point, my greek lineage was basically half of campus.
I am a liberal (I know) and culturally educated individual and this frustrates me to no end. The fact is, the nickname for the fraternity was adopted before the country adopted the name (yes, I know the nation existed long before it was known as Fiji). Fiji Islander philanthropy events are island themed. Not Fiji themed. Fiji is the organization. The attire and decorations are a beach or “Hawaiian” theme: swimsuits, sand, leis, grass skirts, etc. Besides, people in other countries have America-themed parties. If I was there, I would go, even if they didn’t correctly grasp our cultural traditions. Why? Because it’s fun! And if it’s raising money for charity, WHY am I going to throw a fit about it?
As someone who just graduated with a degree in theatre performance, this video frustrates me. My sisters attended every production I was in or directed and showed the utmost respect for my craft. In comparison, my fellow theatre majors who weren’t also Greek were often flippant and disrespectful about fraternity and sorority affairs. That being said, I hope bid day activities never take place right outside of a rehearsal space.

You’re definitely my rush crush, you’d be a perfect Chi Omega.
Hot Piece, I wish you were my big. This column is spot-on.

Love Phi Gam!
This article did do something great. It has sparked some of the most intelligent, well-thought out responses I’ve ever seen on this website.
Well, apparently, this old granny doesn’t know how the new site works just yet. *ahem*
v Oh, honey.

Team Adam.
Coming from your neighbor, they’ve been great every year!
That last conversation is absolutely beyond perfect.
I definitely do. I will always call my guy friends on their bullshit and bring up how they would feel about a guy who did the same thing to me.
Showing up before midnight is pointless anyway.
This. haha.
I would just start over.
This entire article is spot on. Especially #6. If he washes his hair, they will be beautiful together.
Aw! It really is the best moment ever. 🙂 Congratulations!
