If you look at the leaflet included with the drug, it has en entire section about arterial thrombosis. But I t seems to me that her doctor failed to review the possible side effects with her before prescribing it. Birth control is widely know to increase the likelihood of blood clots (which is honestly my biggest fear because I have a family history of heart problems). The fact that they would advertise it as “safe” is so wrong. Let me make this clear to everybody. No drug you put in your body is safe. Not even ibuprofen. Drugs are toxins and they work by poisoning receptors to make them react differently. EVERYTHING has risks. It is so devastating that it happened and her doctor should be sued for not properly educating her. With that being said, we need to be doing our own research and asking questions at the doctor’s office. Even if we feel silly about it. Drugs.com is a great resource. I encourage y’all to use it. I am so sad to hear about this poor woman.
I didn’t say anything about never buying Lilly again, nor am I acting like a psychopath. I think you enjoy picking fights out of nowhere. I just don’t think it’s appropriate for the workplace. Please don’t put words in my mouth.
I mean that’s pretty disappointing. I too don’t want to “get fat,” but I don’t make cartoons like that to help me. I eat well and work out. I don’t see why drawings like that would be appropriate in ANY work space. If you must have them, keep it at home.
One time I had to get an auto repair and the mechanic asked me for “daddy’s phone number” to explain what he fixed and assuming he would handle the bill. I smiled, asked him to explain what he had done and handed him (my own) cash. I was infuriated although I didn’t show it. I won’t be back.
It makes me so sad that someone would feel this way and yeahokwhat’s advice is perfect. I’d like to add that the wonderful part of Greek life is that in each organization there are many different types of people. It’s only your first year so I hope you still give it a chance. There are girls just like you in your chapter, you just have to find them. Your intelligence will present you with so many opportunities… You could serve as academic chairman, work toward scholarships (UIFI?)… Don’t give up yet. Give it another year and see how you feel then. You WILL find girls you can relate to!

I felt this way my freshman year. I couldn’t understand why everyone loved college so much, or how my best friends from high school could feel so at home at their universities. And then I bucked up and transferred to a school half way across the country in an area I’d always wanted to live. I went in with a good attitude and joined a sorority and I completely fell in love. I don’t know why you choose the school that you did, but try again. Go to a place or a kind of school you’ve always wanted to. Get outside your comfort zone. You’ll be so glad you did! College is an amazing experience… Don’t ruin it at the wrong one!
Honestly this sounds awful. Julianne Hough was JUST in the dirty dancing remake and Vanessa Hudgens will always be that nasally girl from HSM. This movie is too good to remake and if this cast actually happens they’re going to ruin it.
I don’t understand why we can’t just have broad comprehensive discussions about this topic in high school. You have to cover EVERYTHING – including abstinence, birth control, understanding what the difference between pro life and pro choice is… It’s incredibly difficult. If it was easy to do, everyone would be doing it. My chapter brings in a sexual wellness educator once a year to have open discussions and talk about what’s healthy, what’s not, and how to refrain from sexual activity in the craziness of college if that’s what you desire. We’ve had excellent feedback from it. If we can’t integrate this kind of education into our high schools, we should at least take the initiative to integrate it into or colleges. It’s so important for young people to understand these things.
This makes me so sad. Don’t girls understand that hospitals and police stations are safe places to bring a baby to if you realize you can’t care for it???
That is so, so tragic. And all those people from the same program… I hope they give their classmates the breaks and counseling they need. Nursing school is difficult on its own, let alone accompanied with a tragedy. I am praying for the friends and families of those who were hurt or killed.
Oops sorry about all the typos! I can’t believe I missed all that. I hope it doesn’t distract from my point too much.

Thanks hot piece! I’ll have to give it a go 🙂

To be perfectly honest the idea of showing up to bed lube-in-hand scares me… I feel like I’ll be judged /:
This is perfect!

You choose your vote for the next president of the United States based on a pop star’s opinion?

If a guy really can’t trust me because I enjoy wearing makeup, then he’s obviously not man enough for me.

Thanks for sharing this story, it really helps to shine a positive light on sororities. Great idea.
Agreed! I think the sorority part is supposed to be satire. It’s such an empowering movie!

He could and should lose his license for something like that… That absolutely terrifies me.
